Pat Robertson, Cancelled Speaker at
The Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast in DC

Dr. Pat Robertson, Chairman/Founder of The Christian Broadcasting Network, notified event coordinators on Thursday morning, January 17th via email that he would not be attending the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. on Monday, January 21st. The basis of his cancellation was due to the event's lack of organization.

Although his cancellation was provided in writing and acknowledged on January 17th, the event coordinators kept the posting of his name as a speaker on their website until Sunday evening, January 20th when they were once again urged to remove it. They also listed The Christian Broadcasting Network as a sponsor of the event when, in fact, the CBN organization never agreed to or provided sponsorship.

A brief statement of greeting was given by Dr. Robertson to Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, a main speaker at the event, who will present it to those in attendance:

"At this critical junction in our nation's history, I commend each one of you assembled here on your love of the Lord and your desire to invoke God's blessing on our nation and its leaders.

Only with His help and guidance can we overcome the challenges that confront us. Our Lord has told us that 'a house divided against itself cannot stand,' nor can 'a kingdom so divided endure.'

Above all else, let us pray that our nation may come together as one nation, under God."
