Franklin Graham Reflects on Pat Robertson

Pat has been a great friend to my father and to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.  And when Father dedicated this building (CBN headquarters) he spoke about the gospel being preached and how God has used this ministry that Pat gave birth to, to take the gospel literally around the world through a whole new format -- through television which has touched the lives of millions and millions and millions of people.

There's Holy Spirit filled power in the gospel message.  And of course, this network of Pat's life, has touched so many millions of people with this power of God, the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, that has transformed and changed lives by the millions. And I just thank God for his life, for his ministry, and for this wonderful network that is continuing and will continue for years and years and years to come, touching another generation with the power of the gospel.

That's what I hope we can be to another generation; we can be a role model.  And Pat certainly was a role model and an inspiration to not only my generation, but to younger generations, those that are coming behind me. I thank God for these examples that God has given us, men of integrity, men who have stood in the middle of the storms, and continued to preach and proclaim the gospel. I just love Pat and thank God for him and thank God for his friendship.

I'm sure if Pat were here today he would give a testimony as to what God did here at CBN.  He wouldn't take credit for it.  He would say it was God. And it is God.  But God uses men and God used Pat.

He was always so gracious.  And he used the program (The 700 Club) to highlight other ministries. Time and time again he gave exposure to other ministries that would have never made it if Pat hadn't told the evangelical world about what this person or that person was doing.

Pat invested in our work time and time again. And I'm so grateful that he did that for me, and I know he did that for hundreds of organizations. He wasn't selfish.  He wanted to lift up the Lord's work. And he did that in a wonderful way.
