VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., February 17, 2003- Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson underwent successful laparoscopic surgery today for the removal of his cancerous prostate gland. According to his physician the surgery went extremely well and he is alert, stable and in extremely good spirits.

Dr. Robertson is expected to return to work in a few weeks to resume his duties as Chairman and CEO of The Christian Broadcasting Network, host of The 700 Club, and Chancellor of Regent University.
