- Manila, the Philippines -- A record 2.8 million people gathered
to hear Pat Robertson address their nation at the "Jesus is Lord,
24th Anniversary Celebration." In a stirring call to revival, Pat
challenged the Filipinos with these words:
"This nation sits in the South China Sea, and it's close to Japan,
close to Korea, close to China, close to Indonesia, close to Australia,
and close to all of Southeast Asia. This is the only Christian nation
in all of Southeast Asia.
"God has a destiny for this nation," said Pat. "It is
no accident that we're here tonight. God has a plan. And we're here
by His plan. And by His appointment. We're here to hear what God has
for this nation. It is my firm belief that God wants the Philippines
to be a blessing to Asia and to be a blessing to the nations of the
earth. If the Philippine nation will accept your destiny, if you'll
accept the plan that God has set forth for you, that's the promise of
God. And the Lord said, 'Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.'"
Then Pat directed his message to the individual hearts of the people:
"Now I also want to say that for every one of you, God has a plan.
God knows you by name. He knows who you are. He knows where you live.
He knows everything about you, and He loves you."
Pat led a sea of people in a very simple prayer. The results are eternal.
"Hallelujah!" he said. "Give God praise and glory for
what He's done for you. Thank Him right now. Thank Him for what He's
done for you. Receive his blessing in your life. Take it now. It's yours.
It's a free gift. Thank you Lord.
"And I want us to pray for this nation," said Pat. "Will
you agree for a blessing of God on the Philippines? Will you agree that
this nation will rise to the greatness that God wants for it? Stand
for this great nation. Join hands with the person next to you."
The flags of the nations and the songs of the Filipino people filled
Rizal Park with such power that many people saw visions of God and His
Kingdom. The evening came to a powerful conclusion as Pat, with his
wife Dede at his side, and Bishop Eddie Villanueva of Jesus is Lord
Church, prayed for the President of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
"Lord, You have brought this special woman into power in this
time, in the history of the Philippines," said Pat. "She has
come into the Kingdom, as Queen Esther said, 'for such a time as this.'
And Lord, for these days, and this time, she needs Your power. And we
pray a special anointing on her now of the Holy Spirit of God.
"And Lord, may she know your perfect will. Unite the hearts of
the Philippine people to support her, and to bless her, that she might
have a glorious time in office. And that she might be a tower of strength
and a mother of this nation. We ask this Lord by the name of Jesus Christ
our Lord, who is Lord of the Philippines. In Jesus' name, Amen. And
Amen."
